The competition deadline is midnight (italian time) of the 12th December 2021.
The entry is free.
Set up in 1995, the Trieste Contemporanea International Design Contest is advertised every two years by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee and it is open to designers from the 17 Central Eastern European Countries adehering to the CEI and from the Baltic Countries, Austria, Kosovo, Germany and Turkey.
The 2021 edition, under the auspices of CEI (Central European Initiative), aims to reflect on individual contribution we can make to sustainable development.
Basic issues of concern are how to effectively change ourselves and increase our responsibility to others and to our planet. Contestants are asked to conceive an original and innovative item of contemporary design taking into account sustainable development objectives, while reflecting on new meanings and purposes, which also objects and tools take when addressing sustainable goals or facing contingencies (e.g. as it occurs during an unprecedented outbreak).
An international jury will select a number of projects to be exhibited in Trieste. The best projects will be awarded the GILLO DORFLES prize for the best design (4000 €), a CEI prize (the best designer from one of the CEI countries not part of the EU: 3000 €) and a BEBA prize (the youngest selected designer: 1000 €).
There is no charge for participation.
